Is it legal to use the Dancing Devil CD on my neighbors?
We cannot research all municipalities for local laws. We assume there may be laws in some areas that prevent use of this CD. It is your responsibility to do the research before using this CD.
Can I use my 3" speakers?
We recommend a minimum of 6" driver, but some smaller speakers do emit frequencies low enough to make the Dancing Devil CD-ROM effective. Some of the tiny Bose, for instance, emit large volumes of low frequency wavelengths.
What if my speakers are too small?
For $10 you can buy one or two large, old, cheapo speakers at garage sales or thrift shops. They may not make beautiful music, but that doesn't matter. They just need an intact woofer that will project low frequencies.
Should I use my subwoofer?
Oh yeah. Thump, thump, thump . . . I'm in your head.
I've seen similar CDs for sale. Why is yours different?
Great question! Other CD's contain recordings of large parties, parrots, air horns, etc. These contain lots of high-frequency wavelengths that only penetrate the wall at very high volumes. Unfortunately, you have to listen to these large volumes which may be more obnoxious than your neighbor's sounds. We also apply technique's that consider attack, frequency of noise, dynamic range, and more to make these recordings very intrusive and obnoxious.
Can the Dancing Devil CD-ROM damage my speakers?
YES . . . if not used properly. Just like any recording, playing at a loud volume can potentially damage the voice coils and other parts of your speaker. These recordings have boosted frequencies from 20hz to 60hz. Always start with volume set to zero (completely OFF) and carefully turn up the volume. Each of the sine wave recordings includes 4 seconds of white noise as a last second reminder to lower the volume. (See instructions for more detail.)
It seems like all this noise will be just as bad as listening to my loud neighbor.
This CD is "full strength" and designed for serious intervention. If you are serously worried about this, don't buy the CD. On the other hand, its IS designed to be as unintrusive on YOU as possible. There are also some tips in the manual on ways to stay comfortable while avenging your noisy neighbor.
Are you certain this will stop my neighbor's noise?
No. For all we know your neighbor is Max Cady and hell bent on destroying your life. On the other hand, if they have an 8:00-5:00 job and only get three hours of sleep for a few nights . . . well, you will see.
Won't my neighbor get mad?
If there isn't already tension between you and your neighbor, you should use some of the other preventive techniques before purchasing the CD.
One thing we know for certain - basic behavioral modification: Once you start addressing the problem, you can expect it to increase in frequency. The neighbors will probably get even louder - for a short time. You have to be prepared to ride it out. After all, this CD is for people on there last leg with no other alternatives. It could be over in a day, three days or two weeks. I'm willing to bet you see changes within three days. In my case it settled a six month battle in eight hours. Yep, total play time was only one hour. 11:00pm - neighbor knocks on my door "Uhhh, I just want to ask if you could please turn down your woofers so my wife and I can sleep." Six months of hell came to an end that night.
